The mission of Franklin-McKinley School District is to make sure that all those who enter the elementar y grades leave the 8th grade with the skills and knowledge needed to enter a college preparator y curriculum in high school without remediation and, once having achieved that, have an opportunity to pursue, at their own choice, either a program preparing them for college and/or a highly skilled career upon graduation from high school.


Children’s Initiatives

$205,000 funded by Packard Foundation, FIRST5, FMSD, CSJ A place based, collective impact, anti-poverty initiative dedicated to create the critical wrap around support ser vices for the children of Santee and their families, with a focus on high academic achievement, safe and secure neighborhoods and parent/adult self-sufficiency.

Family Resource Center

Fun and educational parent/child activities, Child art enrichment activities, Information on community resources, Application assistance for Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, and Healthy Kids insurance programs for children, Developmental screenings for children ages 6 and under, Parent Workshops and Seminars, Preschool and kindergarten readiness, Nutrition, health, and wellness, Triple P Positive Parenting Program, Parent Leadership (Abierto Puertas/Opening Doors)Child language and literacy development (SEEDS).
